Small Gift
Today is the first day of class after the Lunar New Year break and the first and only lesson I had was Corporate Finance II. I like this lesson very much as the lecturer is very nice.
I was thinking whether he is married before. During today’s lesson, everyone knew the answer. He prepared two red packets for us. Anyone who can answer his questions quickly and accurately will get a red packet. Actually the questions were very simple that nearly everyone knew the answers. But finally, nearly no one was willing to raise hand and give him the answer. I really had an impulse to raise my hand and get the red packet at that moment. It was not because of the money but the meaning behind the red packet. Of course, finally, I didn’t take any action although the friends sat on my left and right hand sides held my hands to push me. That’s my style – with intention but without any action, most of the time.
Can you guess how much inside the red packet? Wor ~ It was $100. Yes, $100! My classmates asked me why I didn’t raise hand to answer the question so that we can have $100 and buy candy. I toke a joke saying that if I got the red packet, I can invite 10 people to have a $10 meal(10蚊飯) each. Everyone agreed.
Although I didn’t get the red packet, I got a small gift that made me happy for a day. My classmate gave me a small ice-cream candy. It is so cute that I am not going to eat it, so I still keep it on my desk.
