wish her great success

Last Week, Mumbai saw some of the best designers in the country showcase their summer collection on the ramp. That’s right … it was the Lakme Fashion Week, and my very talented sister Arpita Mehta – one of the best designers around showed her collection too. Inspired by her Holiday to Mykonos/Greece, and keeping her theme – Resort/Destination Wedding, she created this gorgeous “PARADISO” collection which is vibrant, young, elegant, fun collection. Her mirror work and Falisa work is to die for and gleams out any outfit she creates. The good thing about her collection is, its a great bled of the modern with traditional, and can not only worn so differently, rather that the same old traditional way. I cannot be more proud of her, and her and wish her great success, many more shows and a store in every part of the world :)

Here is some of her work. If you ever need to order or see her work, you can see her FaceBook Page – Arpita Mehta

For my recipe post … summer has finally kicked in full swing, and what better way to start with than Ice cream. Its a gorgeous caramel ice-cream, laced with sea salt and to the recipe I added a lovely hazelnut praline , and as a friend suggested – some chocolate covered pretzels. The recipe is from here, though I’d reduce the amount of sugar the next time … since we’re adding the almond praline.

For The Praline – take half a cup of sugar, caramelize it till it turns brown. Take off the heat, and quickly stir in a handful of salted hazelnuts. Very quickly spread it out on a lined baking sheet, making it as thin as you can. When it cools down, cut into small bits and add it to the ice cream, while you are churning it, in the last stage and remove immediately in a broad container, cover with cling film and freeze.

And here’s a link to a lovely interview I recently did with Hotels Cheap Discount Travel Blog. Do check it out ;)
