Finchley
Finchley is part of London, apart from the distance and not too much busy of traffic and occasional could be followed brook and be believed be in the countryside with ducks and squirrels.
There are four areas covering this part are East Finchley, Church End finchley, West Finchley and North Finchley. Finchley’s first public park ws opened in 1902 to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Lady Margaret thatcher who live in Finchley was the MP and PM from 1959 to 1992. Other notable people in associated with Finchley include George Michael, Spike Milligan.
Finchley has been well known as one of peaceful and comfortable area of London. The Dollis Brook along with Finchley originates on Mount Moat Open Space in Mill Hill and ends at Brent reservoir. The name the dollis is beieved by some to have something to do with the rights of commners at Barnet, and is rooted in the same word as “dole”.
Finchley has a little bit of everything. Lady Margaret Thatcher has famous lived in and loved this area for many years, so follow in the footsteps to a Finchley fascination.
What ensures that Finchley stands out is the old mixed in with the new when it comes to its shops. The fact that small independently-owned shop can be find sitting along side throughout area. There is a well established selection of stores situated on Finchley Road, its place in the heart of Finchley means that it gets the local support it needs to survive and sustain current fashions in stock.
