塞爾沃西 ( Selworthy )

*** 簡介 ***

塞爾沃西 ( Selworthy ) is one of the gems of Exmoor. Seven thatched cottages with latticed windows are set around a small green. The whole scene is picturesque and seems to be in a time warp from the past. Built by Sir Thomas Dyke Acland in the mid-nineteenth century and once part of the Holnicote Estate, it is now owned and preserved by the National Trust.

Nearby Selworthy church dates from the late 15th century and is in the Perpendicular style. It sits part way up the hill-side with wonderful views across Porlock Vale to Dunkery.

*** 如何前往 ***

Selworthy is just off the A39 two miles east of Porlock. Drive up the hill to the village and park opposite the church. Can become crowded in July and August.
