Inviting You to Join and Give Support to Deaf Participants 

       (Aug.17, 2015)The 8th Asia Pacific Deaf Games Taoyuan 2015 will take place from October 3rd to11th. It's hosted by Taoyuan City and Chinese Taipei Sports Association of theDeaf. An international press conference is being held in Sports Administrationtoday (Aug.17, 2015) to announce all related information and the officiallaunch of campaign to show the energy and enthusiasm of Taoyuan City.

      To convey the spirit of the games, it's our honor to invite Mr. Wang Shih-Wei,a Track & Field athlete of Chinese Taipei National Team and a resident ofTaoyuan City, to be the spokesperson. He is 22 years old and currently owns thenational record of deaf sprint running. With his enthusiasm, Wang Shih-Wei hasnever been held back by his hearing disability, which is the perfect example of determination and perseverance that the games represent. During the conference,we will also debut an image advertising featuring Wang Shih-Wei and the power of silence. Furthermore, Wang Shih-Wei happily states that he hopes everyone would come to Taoyuan and support the participants. He will do his best to keepthe gold medal in Taiwan.

      Cheng Wen-Tsan, Taoyuan city's mayor, says “The Asia Pacific Deaf Games is nowat its’ 8th, and it is the event second only to Deaflympics. 1,541 athletes from 22 countries will participate in 12 sports including track & field,swimming, taekwondo, judo, bowling, badminton, table tennis, tennis,basketball, football, futsal and cycling. We are committed to providing a highquality and professional service to all participants. We ensure that all ourfriends from everywhere will experience the hospitality of Taoyuan. We also would like to invite everyone to Taoyuan to watch the games and experience thewarmth and charm of Taoyuan.”Lin Ching-Lan, the winner of Miss Deaf Asia 2015 held in July, will perform at the opening of the conference, and she will alsolead the dance group providing even more brilliant show in the closing ceremony.Lots of well-known celebrities support the games through video clips, such asdirector Wei De-Shen, internationally renowned environmental musician MatthewLien, popular singer Ella Chen Chia-Hua, and Golden Melody Awards winner Boxingband. We also invite the deaf model Wang Shiau-Sue to join us and give herblessing to all athletes. There are more video clips from celebrities including Ms. Lin Chi-ling which will be released shortly.
