Introduction

Iron man was produced at 2008 and the director wasJon Favreau. Jon was a very talented director who also participated theproduction of Monk and My name is Earl. It was a trend thatHollywood shot superhero movies every year. In my opinion,Iron man wasthe best one. Not only because the plot but the cast brought this movie to atriumph. The leader actor , Robert Downey Jr., was a gifted actor whosefather was Robert Downey Sr., a famous director. Robert Down Jr.succeeded in interpreting the filthy rich man-Tony Stark and hewas so handsome in the film. Without doubt, Iron man really hit the boxoffice this year.

Summary

Based on the comic Iron man, Tony Stark (Robert DowneyJr.) was a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor. After thedemonstration of his new weapons in Afghanistan,Tony was kidnapped by aterrorist group named Ten Rings who asked him to produce the new powerfulweapons for them. Although wounded and terrified,Tony rejected them the firsttime. Then, he pretended to agree them and built the "arc reactor",asmall power source to escape with Dr. Yinsen,the other captive,under the tableUnfortunately, their plan was detected by Ten Rings , so Dr.Yinsen sacrificedhimself to buy a chance for Tony to escape and destroy the fortress of the terrorist. To his astonishment, he found theterrorist own his company's up-to-date weapons when he tried to fly away butcrashed into dessert.

After being rescued by his friend,a Lieutenant Colonel,Rhodey,Tony backed to United Stated and announced a retreat from militaryindustry. It did not succeeded,because this move was blocked by the board ofdirectors of Stark Industry,said Stane ,a friend of Tony's father. Since then,instead of showing up in the public, he focused on the design of his power suitwhich had helped him beat down terrorists and made an improved arc reactor toreplace the old one.

During his first public appearance at Walt Disney ConcertHall,he accidentally found the truth that Stane was the one who sold theweapons to their enemies and Stane had always been trying to remove Tony frompower.

Hearing the the Dr.Yinsen's village was attacked,Tony put onhis new power suit flying toward Afghanistan and saved them as quick aspossible. Furthermore,Tony asked his assistant to hack into system to collectthe evidence of what Stane had done and found it was Stane that had abetted TenRings to kidnapped Tony Stark!

In the end of the movie, Tony had to fight against Stane,whohad much more better power suit by stealing the Tony's new arc reactor. Even inthe inferior situation,Tony Stark, the Iron man, won.

Analysis

In my opinion, there were tworeasons to support this movies is a good movie. First,Iron man had an amazingactor. Rober Downey Jr. was successful in playing an not typical superhero.Tony Stark was nothing but a carefree rich person. He loved to hang around withpretty women and enjoyed all the super high quality life but sometimes went outto save lives,just like a male,much smarter version of Paris Hilton. Robert diddescribe it. . He interpreted the distinguishing characteristics of Tony Starkfully.

Second,as I mentioned before, Iron man was not a typicalsuperhero. Iron man was not as tragic as other superheros,such asSpiderman,Batman,Daredevil...etc and he was not serious about what justice,truelove, and honor. Tony Stark was just a cute, charming, cool guy.

In this good movie, there were some flaws as well. I think thefinal battle(Tony vs. Stane) was too weak. I felt nothing when I saw thisfight. In the beginning of the battle, Iron man was doomed to lose, butsuddenly Stane was killed. The whole fighting scene did not reach a due climax.Besides, the plot is not quit completed. Audience could not truly understandwhy Tony Stark wanted to be a superhero ,why his secretary fell in love withhim and why Stane was so desperate to power even he had already been the secondperson in the company and the friend of Tony's family. The transition of everycharacter was  not told so the  movie lose it depth and became quite  shallow.

Conclusion

To sum up, Iron man is a good superhero movie because itsucceeded in selling the superhero-Iron man. The most important thing everysuperhero movies should do is let the audience love the hero instead feelnothing or even dislike them. I want to make friend with Tony stark but notDaredevil or Superman. It created the image more close to Spiderman,a notgood  guy who became a superhero. Someonemay think it is boring and repeated that a normal person accidentally gets asuper ability and saves the world, but it is the formula of superhero movies,you cannot blame romantic movies always have someone fall in love.
