Chapter 1

Wow! Look at all the sool stuff in here !" Stephanie Tanner exclaimed. She glanced around the warehouse ,

where long folding tables had been set up to formaisles. Boxes and bags where piled on too of the tables

and all around the walls . She moved closer to one of the boxes to take a peek inside.

" Pots and pans and clothes and books and ........... look , there`s even a computer ," she reported.

" Awesome ", Stephanie`s best friend , Allie Taylor , said. She tucked her light brown hair behind her

ears . " People donated tons of things."

Darcy Powell , Stephanie`s other best friend , grinned . Her sark brown eyes sparkled. "This is going to

be the mother of all thrift sales !" She declared. "And it`s for a great cause ."

"I couldn`t have said it better myself ," a deep voice said from the back of the warehouse .

Stephanie turnes and saw a man walking gray hair and friendly blue eyes.

"Hi , Mr. Cromartie,"Stephanie said , recognizing him .

Dave Cromartie belonged to Friend to Friend , and organization that helped needy kids. Stephanie,

Dary, and Allie had volunteered to work at Friend to Friend`s annual thrift sale the next day. And today

they`d come to the warehouse right after school to help set up everything.

"We`re all ready to work ," Stephanie told Mr. Cromartie . " So just tell us what to do ."

Mr. Cromartie smiled . " Frist , I want to thank you again for volunteering . The momey from this

sale will help send underprivileged kids to summer camp."

Stephanie had a warm feeling inside . Her family wasn`t rich . but she had never had to do without

anything important . And she had been to summer camp almost every year. It made her happy to know she

was helpong kids who didn`t have as much as she did . "We`re glad to do it," she told Mr. Cromartie.

" Definitely," Allie agreed.

"So what should we start on first ?" Darcy asked . "If the sale starts tomorrow , we`d better get

moving ."
