Tilly Swin, errrrr Silly Twin

Eight Flowers Freeman’s Parody
Eight flowers no one was forgettin’
All provoked muse, one after one.
Eight flowers with spirits a-flyin’
Free to do what they wanted to.
One allured the news of Dews to NOBODY – WOW!
One enticed Mrs. to buy it herself – WOW!
One colored the poet’s garden of Odas – WOW!
One magnified the canvas of the lady in Taos – WOW!
One laid itself in the bed of Emily for 2 scores– WOW!
One appeared as the Last Words in the Jar – WOW!
One blossomed where the sidewalk ends – WOW!
One stayed to play with a ruthless child – YEAH!
Eight flowers no one was forgettin’
They provoked muse and away they grew,
Free to float and free to fly
And free to wow where they wanted to.
(If you are interested in the places where those flowers exactly grew, highlight the following section.)
1. Emily Dickinson, “Like Flowers, that heard the news of Dews”
2. Virginia Woolf, “Mrs. Dalloway”
3. Pablo Neruda, “Odes to Common Things”
4. Georgia O’keeffe
5. William Faulkner, “A Rose for Emily”
6. Silvia Plath, “Last Words”
7. Shel Silverstein, “Where the Sidewalk Ends”
8. Shel Silverstein, “Eight Balloons”
The original text of Free’s parody.
Eight Balloons by Shel Silverstein
Eight balloons no one was buyin’
All broke loose one afternoon.
Eight balloons with strings a-flyin’,
Free to do what they wanted to.
One flew up to touch the sun - POP!
One thought highways might be fun - POP!
One took a nap in a cactus pile - POP!
One stayed to play with a careless child - POP!
One tried to taste some bacon fryin’ - POP!
One fell in love with a porcupine - POP!
One looked close in a crocodile’s mouth - POP!
One sat around ’til his air ran out - WHOOSH!
Eight balloons no one was buyin’ -
They broke loose and away they flew,
Free to float and free to fly
And free to pop where they wanted to.

Team
Work。」 Wow! Wow! Wow!!!
