人口普查員打電話來: 請問你家是幾口人?

我說: 我家是shi一口人.

普查員說: “十一口人.”

我說: 不是十一口人而er是shi一口人.

普查員說:二十一口人,怎又變成二十一口人.

我耐著性子“你聽錯了,其qi實shi是一口人.”

普查員大吃一驚地說: “七十一口人,怎麼會那麼多啊?

我終於爆發了, 吼道: 就jiu是shi一口人!

“天啦! 九十一口人.”

我已經快昏過去了!

The census taker called me,” May I ask how many persons

is in your house?

I said,” There is (shi) one (yi) person in my family,”

The census taker said, ‘’ Eleven people?”

I said,” It’s not eleven people, but (er shi) one person

The census taker asked, ‘’ Twenty-one people? How come

it has become twenty-one people?”

I corrected it and said, trying to be patient,

“No! You got it wrong! In fact (qi shi), that is (shi)

one (yi) person.”

The census taker was surprised and asked, ‘’ Seventy-one

people? How come it has become so many?”

Finally, I exploded and roared,” Just only (jiu shi) one (yi) people.”

The census taker shouted,” Oh my god! It is ninety-one

people.”

I almost fainted!
