關於袋鼠的故事  Kangaroo

            當英國船長庫克發現澳洲的時候，他的水手把一隻不知名的怪獸帶到

           了船上。船長問水手們: 「怪獸的名字, 叫什麼? 」， 水手回答說：「不知道。」於是，船長叫水手上岸，去問當地的土著，這隻怪獸叫什麼名字?

           不久，水手回來後說：「先生,  怪獸的名字叫“Kangaroo” 。」

          過了很多年，人們才知道:  原先那個土著人，在被問及怪獸為何物的

時候，他回答說：「Kangaroo?」，意思是說：「你說什麼?” 」

      When Captain Cook of the United Kingdom discovered Australia, his sailors brought aboard ship a strange animal.

      Captain Cook asked the sailors, “What is the monster name?” The sailor replied, “I don’t know.” So Captain Cook demanded the sailor out of the board and went ashore to ask the natives about it. As sooner or later the sailor came back and said, “It’s a Kangaroo, Sir.”

    For many years passed before it was known that when the native was asked to name the animal, and he said, “Kangaroo?” -He meant “What did you say?”
