When in the springtime of the year 每年春季來臨之時

When the trees are crowned with leaves
樹木染上了一片新綠

When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew
梣樹和橡樹，樺木和紅豆杉

Are dressed in ribbons fair 都換上了彩裝

When owls call the breathless moon 貓頭鷹呼喚凝月

In the blue veil of the night 在蒼鬱的夜色中

The shadows of the trees appear 樹影搖晃

Amidst the lantern light 在燈光下分外迷人

We've been rambling all the night 我們終夜漫步嬉遊

And some time of this day 就連白天也不放過

Now returning back again 如今我們又再回到這裡

We bring a garland gay 身邊多了戴著美麗花環的人相伴

Who will go down to those shady groves
他將步入陰暗的林間

And summon the shadows there 集結了那兒的陰鬱

And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms
他為樹枝繫上了絲帶

In the springtime of the year 在這春的季節裡

The songs of birds seem to fill the wood
鳥鳴如歌瀰漫森林

That when the fiddler plays 伴隨著提琴手的演奏

All their voices can be heard 他們的樂音響亮

Long past their woodland days 穿越過往的大地時空

We've been rambling all the night 我們終夜漫步嬉遊

And so they linked their hands and danced
於是他們執起了彼此的手

Round in circles and in rows 圍成圓圈跳起舞來

And so the journey of the night descends 當長夜之旅將盡

When all the shades are gone 所有陰霾皆散開

A garland gay we bring you here
我們引領戴著美麗花環的人來到這裡

And at your door we stand 齊聚在你的門前

It is a sprout well budded out 春芽已然萌發

The work of Our Lord's hand 真是造物者的傑作
