When she went out tip-toeing, Jane closed the door leaving the silence behind her. It was dark outside of the cabin, and people were still sleeping. Jane saw a dog sitting by the cabin. Raising its body, wagging its tail, the dog walked close to her. “Hi! You must have been here the whole night.” Jane touched its head. No wonder she heard its barking that night. The dog guided her.
The moon hung in the sky, big and bright. Among the straight, tall pine trees, the dog led Jane to a hill. The dog’s leg was wrapped in bandages. Blood still oozed through the bandages. “What a royal guard!” It looked so brave, dependable, and responsible.
「明月松間照」 萬籟靜寂。珍踏出小木屋，卻意外地發現一隻狗，整夜在外守候。他左腳綁著繃帶，一跛一跛地引領珍到山坡另一邊處。靈性人獸皆有之。
