The moonlight shoots inside the room
Round, bright and lonely, a moon
Candle burns in the dark, hands shake paper fans
Listening to radio news, neighbors bond and come closer
Trees are pulled out of ground, fully lying across the street.
Refrigerators are empty, ice keep them cool
Long lines form for gas, food
A cup of coffee catches a shopper’s eyes
We go to shopping malls to charge cellphone, and check e-mail
The tollway is really free for all, welcome back home
We have no power but we are safe
