Tonight I got a friendster message from a good friend of mine in the Philippines. He said the Cantonese song I taught him five years ago was running in his head recently. The melodies and the lyrics reminded him of those good memories when we were in Japan. Ai.....atashi mo....

The song was "Karaoke King" sung by a famous Cantonese singer, Eason Chan. It’s a simple ballad song, yet the time and the place it was played were just unforgettable. And we all knew that. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We all knew.

I remember how I cried when the thought of departing Japan haunted me. Back to reality.
