Forgotten Favorites

Have not been in contact with current affairs for long, cos living in hostel is like isolated from the outside world. Every time when I return home, I'm like a villager coming to town, knowing nothing about what is going on in town. I've just learned that there is new route to TST this Sunday, and a serious car crash in Taiwan two days ago.

Time passes by so rapidly and I almost fail to realise today is already the 20th. What's wrong with being the 20th? Well, there are two things which I have expected for long happened -

1/ THE NEW SINGLE FROM TRAVIS, RELEASED 18/10/04

"Walking In The Sun" is a breezy melodic Travis classic, produced and mixed by long time collaborators Mike Hedges & Nigel Godrich, also included across the formats are 2 other new tracks written by Fran - "Bring Me Round and "Life And Soul Of The Party" and a futher B- Side written by Dougie "I Forget My Name".

This is a happy song which can cheer me up lately, and the music video is rather funny. And as a die hard fan of Travis, how can I miss this single? I think I gotta go to HMV and have a look soon.

2/ THE FILM, BEFORE SUNSET, IN THEATRE ON 14/10/04

It is a continunity of the film, 'Before Sunrise' in 1995.

When Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) met on a Eurail train, the connection between them was immediate and profound. The 14-hour relationship that followed, as the pair explored the spontaneous and unexpected in Vienna, ended on a train platform where they swore they'd meet again six months later.

Nine years have passed since that morning.

On the last stop of his book tour, at the tail end of a reading in a Paris book shop, Jesse finds Celine watching from the back of the room. She lives in Paris now, he in New York. He's flying out that evening and they utilize every moment, finding their human connection no less vital, inspiring or real than it was in nine years ago in Vienna.

In a stimulating and revealing journey through Paris, in real time, these two individuals explore the inner workings of their hearts and minds and rediscover their rare yet powerful love for the unexpected, the unrehearsed, and each other.

I have been longing to see this film in theatre once I knew the existence of it after watching 'Before Sunrise'. But I turn out to forget that it has started showing a week ago. Anyway, I am soooo excited about it, will I be able to spare some time and watch it some day? There are so many films I have been wanting to see and did not see at last.
