一起在英國長大:【生活日記11】Poem Competition

‘Beeeeeeeeeeeeeee’. The bell rang for the afternoon lesson. I stood and glared at Lily and Heather.
“Come on”, I muttered quietly to Heather. In the line I talked to Heather about the poem competition (whole school). The champions of each year sat on a bench in front of the whole school. Mr Souter and Mr Atherton judged the competition. Miss Painter is a judge too, but she wasn't there. The first girl stumbled a bit when she read her poem. When Owen (in our year, judged by our unfair teacher Mr Pilsty) finished reading his stupid poem (Owl of Greenwood) I muttered “useless” under my breath. I can still remember that day when Alex lost.

“Good afternoon everyone”
“Good afternoon Mr Pilsty”. So the champions started reading their poems and when they finished the most amazing thing happened…
“The boy champion is…. Owen”
“He cheated, didn't he?” I said to Heather after the competition. I couldn't believe my ears.
“Yes, I think Mr Pilsty cheated.” she said. She always said that Mr Pilsty didn't cheat.

A-ha the champion wasn't Owen anyway. That serves him right. I think I've written enough now.
