常見的水晶生長形狀為單一晶體(晶柱),或由多個晶柱根部相連組成的晶簇,另外就是骨幹水晶了.
骨幹水晶是由多個水晶相互交疊(疊晶)形成一個大的個體.
骨幹水晶由於不同的生長環境,產生不同的結晶造型,因此外形多變,具有各種綺麗的造型.
骨幹水晶依照不同的生長模式,有不同的名稱,如教堂水晶,仙人掌水晶,權杖水晶,縫合線水晶,扭旋水晶等. 每一個骨幹水晶都有它自己的特色,很難找到兩個一模一樣形狀的骨幹水晶.
