曾經滄海難為水，
No other waters could impress me for I've seen the vast seas;
除卻巫山不是雲；
Having viewed majestic Witch'd Mountain, me other clouds can't please.
取次花叢懶回顧，
I will never glance again at other flowers -- (to you I vow) --
半緣修道半緣君。
For my destined Love is half for you, Dear, and half for the Dao or the right way!

曾經滄海
Having seen the vast boundless seas
大湖長河皆非水。
All the great lakes and long rivers aren't waters to brag off
而巫山，飛越奇巖險峯，
And the Wu Mountain, flying over across the fantastic crags strange rocks and perilous peaks in the sheer summits,
飛越啼不住猿聲的
Flying over the the cries of gibbons or apes on both banks could not be stopped
四月的
In April
巫山
The Wu Mountain
風，總是夾帶
There's wind blowing, always entrained mingling with
滿滿思念的雲雨。
Fully clouds and rains that'd evoke deep thoughts of missing the loved ones.
參差紅和綠
Unevenly jagged and irregularly in colors reddening and greening
那株珊瑚藤，芽葉
That plant of coral pink vine, with sprouting shoot buds and leaves
春意盎然，正殷勤
As spring is evident everywhere all flowers blooming, are attentively showing great hospitality
試探著我
Testing me if my chastity
對你的
To you
貞潔。
Is kept staying.
飄泊吧，愛情！
Go wandering, Love !
隨巫山雲，隨
Drifting with the clouds of the Wu Mountain, floating to follow
滄海水
The vast boundless sea of Cang waters
冷冷，冷冷──
It's chilling cold, cold and chill ------
