此曲為美國創作歌手Leon Payne於1957所寫，同年首由民謠搖滾歌手Loy Clingman錄唱發行，之後翻唱者眾，包含有知名鄉村歌手Jim Reeves (1961 ) 等，而將此曲唱紅的，應是Sanford Clark於1967所發行的版本。

歌名「It's Nothing to Me」 的字面意思有「這對我來說不算甚麼」、「這跟我無關」或「我不在乎」。歌曲述說的是，敘事者勸酒吧中的一位老兄，不要搭訕一位已有男伴 ( 此男伴看來脾氣暴躁嫉妒心重 ) 的女生，但這位老兄不受勸，結局是這位老兄被殺死躺在了地板上。對敘事者來說，好話說盡，也只能冷眼旁觀了。

外國歌曲的題材的確相當的多樣化，歌曲呈現的是生活中對問題應對的態度，你自己若不在乎，結果如何也就不干別人的事了。
