此曲為美國鄉村歌手兼詞曲作者Rodney Crowell所寫，他曾於1975加入鄉村女歌手Emmylou Harris的專屬樂隊，担任吉他手與合音期約3年，顯然因此緣由，此曲首由Harris錄唱並收錄於其1975的專輯《Elite Hotel》中，專輯獲得鄉村榜的冠軍，但此曲並未另發行單曲。

翻唱此曲的知名歌手也不少，如Waylon Jennings ( 1977 )、Willie Nelson ( 1978 )、Bobby Bare (1979 ) 等，而最出名的則是鄉村女歌手Crystal Gayle的版本，於1982奪得了鄉村榜的冠軍。

其實寫歌的Rodney Crowell對於歌詞中的been和can的韻腳並不滿意，它認為若是在他事業的後期創作這首歌，它會花時間來尋找另一個更難押韻的詞，但當人們告訴他這首歌是他們最喜歡的他的作品時，Crowell感到非常的驚訝，他自己的版本則收錄於1981發行的同名專輯中。

以下所貼為英格蘭雙胞胎姊妹Haley Sisters的版本，演唱及編曲俱佳。以及日本樂團Wildwood Roses的剪接現場版，女主唱的詮釋頗具水準、身材也非常的吸睛，吉他手的形象也頗亮眼。
