此曲為美國鄉村女歌手Dottie West 於1979發行的專輯《Special Delivery》中的歌曲，單曲獲得告示牌鄉村榜的第1名，也是Dottie獨唱生涯的首支冠軍曲。

Dottie於1932出生於貧困家庭，由於父親愛酗酒，經常對子女施暴。Dottie青少年時，甚至遭父親長期性虐待以致流產 (15歲)，後因父親在它地另尋到工作，要脅17歲的Dottie輟學隨其前往，導致Dottie在學校情緒失控，而向老師坦白遭父親性侵的事實，後父親遭判入監服刑40年，1967病死獄中。

Dottie闖蕩歌壇初期認識了已成名的女歌手Pasty Cline，兩人旋即成為好友，由於當時Dottie的經濟狀況不佳，Pasty常帶著Dottie夫婦一起巡演。1963，Pasty參加了在堪薩斯市的一場義演後欲返回納許維爾，但由於天候不佳飛機未能起飛，Dottie邀Pasty一起搭車前往 ( 約8小時車程 )，Pasty婉拒並說 : Don't worry about me, Hoss. When it's my time to go, it's my time。未料一語成讖，次日，Pasty搭乘的小飛機失事，僅享壽30歲。而20多年後的1991，Dottie自己也因車禍意外身亡 (58歲)。

1965，Dottie West以一首與老公合寫並由自己錄唱的《Here Comes My Baby》，贏得了一座「最佳鄉村女歌手」的葛萊美獎。由於是葛萊美初列該獎項，Dottie也成為獲得該獎項的第一位鄉村女歌手。

此曲述說的是一個曾經被愛情拋棄的女子，已從中得到了教訓，就算男子再設法打聽她，她也不會再回頭，因為她知道男子不會因她而改變，同時，她也期盼看到男子同樣遭受到被分手的打擊。另，在感情的世界裡，總是有心軟的女孩，不斷地被有惡習、不負責任的男人傷害。
