此曲收錄在美國鄉村女歌手 Carlene Carter於1993發行的專輯《Little Love Letters》中，但並未另發行單曲。而專輯中另外一首《Every Little Thing》則勇奪告示牌鄉村排行榜的第3名 ( Carlene歌唱生涯最好的成績也只有包含該曲、共3首的第3名。)，專輯的成績也不差，拿下第35名。

Carlene Carter出生在歌唱家庭，父母親皆為鄉村歌手，尤其母親家族的「Carter Family」，是著名家庭傳承的鄉村民謠合唱團體 ( Carlene是第三代，曾於1987加入母親與兩位阿姨組成的The Carter Family )，再說到她的繼父Johnny Cash，更是縱橫了鄉村歌壇近50年的大牌歌手。Carlene於1978出道，1979，在紐約的一場演唱會中介紹自己專輯中一首關於交換伴侶的歌曲《Swap-Meat Rag》時說道 : Well, if that don't put the 'cunt' back in country, I don't know what does. ( Cunt 是指女性的下體，口語時多半被視為髒話，在此處不知該如何翻譯，或許與中文罵「賤  ㄅㄧ」較為相近。) ，而當時Carlene並不知道母親和繼父Johnny Cash就坐在觀眾席中，可見Carlene的本性是有些放任不羈的。

自1971—1990，Carlene曾結、離婚了3次 ( 有 2個小孩 )。1990，音樂人Howie Epstein ( 最為人知的是他擔任Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers樂團的Bass手 ) 替Carlene製作專輯《I Fell in Love》，其中同名的單曲 ( 兩人均有參與寫歌 ) 獲得葛萊美獎「最佳鄉村女歌手」的提名，惜 未獲獎。而此篇所介紹的《Heart Is Right》，也是Carlene與Howie兩人所合寫。自1996至2002，Carlene與Howie在新墨西哥州的特蘇基 ( Tesuque ) 同居。2001，Carlene與Howie被新墨西哥警察攔停路檢，除了在車上查獲毒品，車輛還被確認是贓車。後在Tom Petty的敦促下，Howie進了戒毒中心。2003，Howie因過度使用毒品而引起併發症過世，僅享年47歲。Carlene則於2006再婚，2020又離，現年70歲。

1978，Carlene Carter與Susanna Clark合寫了一首《Easy From Now On》，由鄉村女歌手Emmylou Harris錄唱，單曲獲得排行榜第12名。後Carlene自己也錄唱，收錄在與《Heart Is Right》同張的專輯中，就一併 介紹了。
