2006，美國鄉村女歌手Jessi Colter推出了一張錄音室專輯《Out of the Ashes》，此距她上一張發行專輯已經過了10年，此張專輯獲得鄉村專輯排行榜的第61名  ( 以鄉村專輯來論，距上一張已有22年，也是她自1981以來再次入榜的專輯。 )，此也為自其丈夫知名鄉村歌手Waylon Jennings於2022過世後所發行的首張專輯，自是意義重大，由專輯名稱「走出灰燼/骨灰」來看，Colter想傳達的信息是，即使是沒有了丈夫的協助，她仍然可以是一個佇立於歌壇的藝人。

此首《Out of the Rain》為Tony Joe White所寫，80年代晚期，Colter和Jennings曾合唱過此曲但未發表，此次收錄在專輯中，也加入了Tony Joe White演唱的一段，以及the Greater Apostolic Christ Temple Choir ( 大使徒基督聖殿合唱團？) 的合音。此曲融合了福音、鄉村與藍調曲風，編曲也甚為優美，但並未另發行單曲。

Jessi Colter於1969嫁給Waylon Jennings，1975，以一首《I'm Not Lisa》拿下了鄉村榜的冠軍。1976，參與老公Jennings等人的專輯《Wanted ！The Outlaws 》，除了破紀錄的獲得銷售超過百萬張的白金唱片，也在2007獲得了「葛萊美名人堂獎」。由上述專輯之後迄今的成績來看，Colter大概很難擺脫她曾是Jennings的妻子並受到庇蔭的印象，或因而未能受到更多的關注。

以下另貼夫妻倆的對唱，Jennings唱的是原曲《The Wild Side of Life》( Hank Tompson/1952) 的部分歌詞，Colter則是唱回應歌《It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels》( Kitty Wells/1952) 的歌詞，頗具趣味性，而倆人均對原歌詞做了少許的更改。
