此曲首由美國鄉村女歌手Charly McClain於1977錄唱發行，並打進鄉村排行榜，獲得第87名。緊接著Dolly Parton在1978亦發行此曲的單曲，惜未能入榜。倒是流行女歌手Cher的版本，在1979同樣地獲得鄉村榜的第87名。然後有多位知名的女歌手包含 : Loretta Lynn、Dottie West、Lorrie Morgan等均有翻唱，但似乎都只收錄在專輯中，未另發行單曲。

1980，女歌手Janne Pruett ( 她最知名的是1973的冠軍曲《Satin Sheets》) 亦翻唱此曲，但有別於其它女歌手柔情的演譯方式 ( 其實也都唱得不錯 )，改採低沉哀怨的唱法，竟然拿下了排行榜的第9名，唯不知是否受了之前Sammi Smith 1978版本的影響。Sammi於1973以一首《Help Me Make It Through The Night》奪得了「最佳鄉村女歌手」的葛萊美獎，而之後竟未再有佳作表現，歌喉沒問題，應該是沒人再替她寫好歌吧！

此曲歌詞淺顯通俗，不知珍惜當下已有的感情，再想獲得時已晚矣！
