二二八事件在嘉義
嘉義「水上機場」事件
一九四七年三月二日至九日，這段時間，嘉義市已經變成了二二八事件中的殺戮戰場。
來自外地的五十名年小輕伙子，大都二十幾歲，想要攻占水上機場，經過數日的激戰之後，終因彈盡援絕，竟不幸遭到追殺，遭槍斃水上機場道路兩旁的水溝。不久，附近居民奉命埋葬屍體，改葬在臺一線省道、北回歸線標誌附近的三個地點，並以土葬希望這些英雄烈士們安息。
李君瑞是當時埋葬的見證者之一，他回憶當年埋葬這些「英雄烈士」的遺體時，是以五人為一排，分層往上疊放，埋屍最多的一處有四十多具，其他兩個地方，各埋了六、七具，又因這些英雄烈士的遺體，埋葬的地方，恰巧位於水上鄉下寮村已故村民賴添貴的農地附近，早年賴添貴下田耕作時，曾經挖出一、二十具「英雄烈士們」的骨骸，賴先生依臺灣習俗，將這些「英雄烈士們的骨骸」遷葬他處墓園，因此開挖現場，應該僅剩三十多具「英雄烈士的骨骸」。
一九九九年十一月二十日，水上鄉公所與二二八事件紀念基金會，著手開挖這些「蒙難的英雄烈士們」的埋葬地點，（經由探測報告指示地點後開挖），於地下兩公尺處，便陸陸續續挖出「蒙難英雄烈士們的骨骸、衣服、皮帶、皮鞋、鋼盔」等遺物，骨骸共有八袋，後奉安於「嘉雲寶塔」內的六個塔位，其餘「英雄烈士們」的遺物，則由水上鄉公所整理後，於鄉公所內展示，以供紀念。
評論：
這些「臺灣英雄烈士們的忠骨、遺物」，正是二二八事件，中國軍隊屠殺全臺的鐵證，臺灣歷史的見證。
這些勇敢的臺灣英雄烈士們，能夠及時的對外來的侵略政權，給予反抗和反擊，雖然未能成功，壯烈成仁，但他們的偉大情操，確是現今猶生存在臺灣的臺灣人，應該學習的模範和榜樣。
「法古今完人」的意思，正就是要學習，像這些臺灣的：「臺灣年輕的英雄烈士們」的行為，雖然當時未能起義、反抗成功而壯烈成仁，但人生自古誰無死，留取丹心照汗青；總比那些只知苟延殘喘、苟全性命、苟且偷安的臺灣凡夫俗子們，臺灣英雄烈士們在人生旅途中，更顯得多彩多姿、轟轟烈烈的有意義的犧牲，拋頭顱、灑熱血，英雄烈士們的人生，確實是來得更有價值、更值得人民的讚賞和值得臺灣人民效法的模範與榜樣。
而可惜的卻未能入祀「臺灣忠烈祠」，因為臺灣尚還沒有『臺灣忠烈祠』，有的只是與我們臺灣不相干的「中國忠烈祠」，祭祀那些與我們臺灣人毫不相干的中國人物，例如什麼「七十二烈士」之流、、、；致使一些真正的臺灣英雄烈士們，浪跡地獄「枉死城」受苦受難。
去年，作者剛好完成單行本的《臺灣歷史第四集》，因此就很隆重的將臺灣歷史上的臺灣英雄烈士們，在佛曆二五四九年（西元二○○五年、民國九十四年）農曆四月八日，釋迦牟尼佛誕辰，藉佛光普照時，予以封，並立即上昇至東八天（即臺灣的上天天空中），以享福報。
在此，也再次呼籲臺灣執政當局，既然『吃在臺灣、喝在臺灣、腳踏臺灣地、頭頂臺灣天。』若再不思「飲水思源」，卻要一再的「吃裡扒外」，心向中國，那麼小心啊！你將會被「天打雷劈」的。
