老歌亂談(925)Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
此首《Goodbye Yellow Brick Road》如同以往，由Elton John的寫歌搭擋Bernie Taupin寫詞，Elton John自己譜曲，收錄在1973發行的同名專輯中，單曲雖然在英、美排行榜只分別獲得第6及第2名，唱片卻在美國大賣，獲得金唱片(1974)及白金唱片(1995)的認證。此曲廣受樂評們的好評，有些甚至認為這是Elton John最好的一首歌。
由歌名直譯，應是《再見了！黃磚路》，而這「Yellow Brick Road」其實是引用1939改編自童話故事的電影《The Wizard of Oz》( 台譯：綠野仙蹤 )，電影中的女主角桃樂絲 ( Dorothy ) 與愛犬帶著稻草人、錫人及獅子就是由「黃磚路」出發，前往Oz ( 奧茲 )，尋找他們各自希望獲得的「腦」、「心」及「勇氣」，最後雖然都「如願以償」，而其實這些都是他們早已俱備的，只是無信心及未努力去發掘罷了。
2010，此曲在滾石雜誌歷來500最佳歌曲中排名第380。
