老歌亂談(723)In Dreams
有些人在作夢時會夢到不可思議的事 ( 像是「明牌」？)，而Roy Orbison說他夢到和一位電台DJ在一起，DJ告訴說這是貓王Elvis Presley的一首新歌，醒來後對之仍有深刻印象，趕緊將此曲完成，大約只花了20分鐘的時間。
此曲仍一如Roy Orbison之前多首「傷情歌」的風格。歌中的男女主角，有可能是曾經的戀人，由於不明的原因而分開 ( 或一方逝世？)，好不容易又相聚在一起，但仍是空夢一場。此曲於1963發行後，獲得了告示牌熱門100排行榜的第7名。
此曲在美國入榜的約5個月期間，Roy Orbison和The Beatles一起在英國表演，主辦單位的宣傳擔心Roy Orbison在英國沒什麼知名度，將宣傳廣告的重心都放在The Beatles，Roy Orbison看了知道自己不是主秀，開唱的當晚，就先站上舞台 ( 一般是為暖場 )，豈知台下的觀眾非常喜歡Orbison的歌曲，當唱完最後一首，即是此首的《In Dreams》時，觀眾卻是欲罷不能而「安可」連連，當第15次被鼓譟時，John Lennon和Paul McCartney拒絕Orbison再出場，而Orbison的演唱已用掉了他原預訂的兩倍時間。
1987，此曲被引用在David Lynch ( 大衛林區 ) 所導演的黑色驚悚片《Blue Velvet》( 台譯：藍絲絨 ) 中作為插曲 ( 主題曲為Bobby Vinton所唱與影片同名的《Blue Velvet》)，不僅使得此曲再受到矚目，也提振了Roy Orbison滑落了許久的歌唱事業。
