Ray Stevens (1939 ─ )是位鄉村及流行歌手兼詞曲作家，同時也是位喜劇演員 ( 應該是屬於搞笑藝人那一類 )。據他事後接受訪談透露，當時為了替他的電視綜藝節目《The Ray Stevens Show》作一首主題曲，在地下室待了三天，到處都是被揉掉的紙團，而當靈感一來，只花了45分鐘就完成了。又說，這是一首很特別的歌，許多人都還一直記得，當在節目中播放時，也會跟著一起唱。

Ray Stevens之前的幾首熱門曲，走的都是新奇搞怪的曲風；這首《Everything Is Beautiful》則有別於以往，採取的是福音歌曲的風格。開始時的一段歌詞，是引用聖經的讚美詩「Jesus Loves The Little Children」，並由田納西州納許維爾的Oak Hill Elementary 小學的兒童合唱團來演唱 (合唱團中也包含了Ray Stevens的兩個女兒)。此曲在1970發行後，不僅拿下了告示牌熱門榜的冠軍，也在1971為Ray Stevens奪得了一座「最佳流行男歌手」的葛萊美獎。
